ALMUTEMAscendant Conjunction Mercury
Ascendant represents your body, your make-up and how you present yourself and begin things; Mercury, the way you think, speak and learn.
Mercury upon the Ascendant gives the native an agile, communicative stamp: a quick, curious, lively mind, a jovial air younger than the years, and a need to talk, learn, and move. A versatile spirit; the reverse is restlessness and dispersion.
Mercury on the Ascendant is in its joy, since tradition holds the First House to be where it is glad. That is why this position strengthens it even when the sign does not help. The planet is neutral and takes the colour of whatever aspects it, which makes the person very open to influence: ideas and gestures come from those around them. In Gemini or Virgo, intelligence gains method; in Sagittarius or Pisces, more imagination and less rigour. It shows in someone who talks with their hands and changes the subject before everyone else.
