ALMUTEMAscendant Conjunction Sun
Ascendant represents your body, your make-up and how you present yourself and begin things; Sun, who you truly are deep down, your willpower and what gives you energy.
The Sun upon the Ascendant lights up the native: a noble bearing, strong vitality, and a natural wish to shine and to take one’s place, with an authority and presence that make themselves noticed. It gives health and dignity; the reverse is pride and the thirst to be seen.
In practice, the Sun is rising over the eastern horizon at the moment of birth, close to the cusp of the First House, which usually means a birth at or just after dawn. Tradition reads the Sun here as a signifier of the body itself and of vital force: the more dignified it is by sign (in Leo or Aries above all), the firmer the health and the more natural the authority. In Libra or Aquarius the light is there, but takes more effort to sustain. It shows in someone who walks into a room and becomes, without meaning to, its point of reference.
