Ascendant Conjunction Mars

Ascendant represents your body, your make-up and how you present yourself and begin things; Mars, your energy, your desire and the courage to act.

Mars upon the Ascendant stamps the native with its fire: an energetic, bold, and combative bearing, courage and initiative, but also impatience and haste, with the body exposed to scars, blows, or fevers. A presence that asserts itself and will not be trodden over.

Mars rising over the horizon is the classical signature of a hot temperament and a marked physical presence. Being a malefic and a planet of the night, in a night chart it is in its own sect and courage is more useful; in a day chart its fire joins the Sun’s and impatience rises. In Aries, Scorpio or Capricorn the energy has discipline; in Libra, Taurus or Cancer it breaks out sideways. Tradition mentions marks on the face or head. It shows in someone who acts before they think.
