ALMUTEMAscendant Square Sun
Ascendant represents your body, your make-up and how you present yourself and begin things; Sun, who you truly are deep down, your willpower and what gives you energy.
The Sun square the Ascendant strains the expression of self: pride, the will to impose oneself, and some friction between who one is and how one appears, with effort spent to be recognised. Well lived, it gives strength of character.
The square places the Sun near the Midheaven or the Imum Coeli, that is, in the zone of career or in that of home and origins. In the first case the person feels they must prove who they are in full view of everyone; in the second, the figure of the father or the family inheritance weighs on how they present themselves. The tension comes from a pride that will not accept second place. The classical way through is to put that fire into a concrete work, where the wish to be recognised turns into responsibility.
