The planet of the mind fuses with the lord of limit: thought gains weight, depth, and caution. It gives an enormous intellectual precision and a most sharpened critical faculty, which sees at once the flaw in any reasoning — excellent for work that asks rigour and concentration on detail, less for what requires a view of the whole, which here turns narrow. The reverse is for thinking to turn toward the negative: to see the defects and lose sight of the unity, and to find communication hard — the native keeps silent what they fear to reveal, when it is precisely then that they ought to speak.
