Moon in Capricorn

Moon represents your emotions, your instincts and what makes you feel safe. In Capricorn, it expresses itself with method, ambition and the patience to build.

The Moon is in its detriment in Capricorn — a cardinal earth sign, ruled by Saturn — in the place opposite its domicile, where it dwells as a stranger without rights. Its moist and nurturing nature is given over to a cold and dry lord, averse to all that is tender, and hence a contained, sober feeling that refuses to show itself. It inclines to a serious, cautious temper, marked by duty and want — affection expressed in responsibility, not in tenderness, and silent about what it feels. The emotions harden like frozen earth, slow to warm, prone to melancholy and discouragement. It gives ambition, patience and endurance, but at the cost of some dryness and solitude. The mother, in a nocturnal chart, appears austere, demanding or distant, perhaps of scant presence. As the Moon moves the fluids, there is coldness in the body, the knees and the skin asking for care. Strength in enduring; but detriment robs it of consolation and warmth.
