Mercury in Sagittarius
Mercury represents the way you think, speak and learn. In Sagittarius, it expresses itself with a wish to explore, grow and feel free.
In Sagittarius — mutable fire, ruled by Jupiter — Mercury is in its detriment, cast into the sign opposite Gemini, without house or strength, ill-accommodated on ground too broad for its fine wit. The mind here flies to the general and scorns the detail: it sees the whole, but loses the joint; it embraces great matters and neglects the small exactitudes in which Mercury is strong. The word is frank, ample, given to doctrine and preaching, but inclined to promise more than it fulfils and to affirm before it proves. It inclines to philosophy, to faith, to high study, to the journey of the spirit through vast lands. It gives broad vision, enthusiasm in speech, a taste for great truths. But because it is exiled, the danger is grave: precipitation in judgement, exaggeration, the confidence that dispenses with calculation and trades exactness for rapture.
