Mercury in Scorpio

Mercury represents the way you think, speak and learn. In Scorpio, it expresses itself with intensity and depth, all or nothing.

In Scorpio — fixed water, ruled by Mars — Mercury is peregrine, without dignity, and from the martial house of water takes a gloomy and penetrating depth. The mind is sharp, distrustful, given to probing what is hidden and not content with the surface of things. The word is cautious, reserved, at times biting; it keeps more than it says and measures silence as a weapon. It inclines to the investigation of the secret, to a wit for mystery, to an eloquence that wounds when it wills and that knows how to keep silent when it is fitting. It tends to suspect the motives of others and to mull over grievances. It gives rare perspicacity, force of concentration, a talent for discovering what others hide. The danger lies in malice: to use the intelligence to wound, to let distrust poison the judgement, to sink into obsessions and make of the word a goad instead of a bridge.
