The 28 Mansions of the Moon
The Moon travels the zodiac in 28 mansions of 12°51′, each with its own essential nature and oracle. The lunar stations of the tradition.
What they are
The Moon travels the zodiac in about twenty-seven days; each mansion is a slice of just under thirteen degrees. It is an ancient system, of Arabic and Indian origin, later gathered by authors such as Agrippa, the Picatrix and Robson.
What they are for
Traditionally, the moment to travel, plant, buy or attend to something is chosen according to the mansion the Moon occupies — each favours certain actions and discourages others.
