Venus in Virgo
Venus represents what you love, what gives you pleasure and the things you value. In Virgo, it expresses itself with an eye for detail and a practical streak.
Venus is here in its fall, in Virgo — mutable earth ruled by Mercury. The gentle and fecundating star, that thrives in abandon and in grace, finds itself lowered in a sign of calculation, examination and small service, where its moist heat dries and its impulse of union shrinks. It inclines to a reserved and critical love, that chooses with a magnifying glass and fears to give itself without guarantee; the desire of union is filtered through reason and usefulness, and loses in ardour what it gains in discernment. It gives refinement of taste, cleanliness, a delicate hand for fine craft, but tends to seek faults where it ought to yield. The concord here harmonises by duty and correction, not by transport, and sweetens with parsimony. The beauty is modest, clean, of discreet line. The danger is minute coldness: pleasure is postponed in wait of a perfection that never comes, and affection dwindles in analysis.
