Venus in Cancer

It inclines to a protective and sentimental love, that loves by nurturing and clings to the nest; the desire of union seeks shelter, belonging and the sweetness of home. It gives affections changeable as the tides, easily moved, given to longing and to family attachment. The concord here harmonises by care, sweetens by tenderness, but draws back at the first cold and closes into the shell. It tends to a soft and lunar beauty, of gentle features. The danger is dependence: pleasure is drenched with emotion, and what ought to unite grips too tightly, hostage to the dread of losing what it loves.
