Mars in Sagittarius
Mars represents your energy, your desire and the courage to act. In Sagittarius, it expresses itself with a wish to explore, grow and feel free.
Mars rides Sagittarius — mutable fire, house of Jupiter — as a peregrine, with no dignity of his own, yet in friendly fire, under the lordship of the great benefic. Here the ardour gains a mark and a horizon: the force aims far, the fight becomes a crusade, the blow serves a faith or a higher law. Jupiter ennobles the martial surge and gives it direction — the soldier becomes a knight, the strife becomes a cause, the perilous journey opens into a quest. It inclines to a combative enthusiasm, to the frankness that fires off without circling, to zeal for that in which it believes. It gives a long-reaching courage, a taste for adventure and for distant danger, pride in defending doctrine and justice. It tends to an excess of faith in its own aim, to the rash crusade, to the arrow loosed farther than the arm can reach. Like the archer at the gallop, it strikes true at a distance and tramples what is near. The danger is that of a force unbridled in the quest: a fire that chases the horizon and burns the road.
