In the fifth house — of children, of pleasures, of games and of all that is created and begotten — the Sun settles in a succedent house, of middling strength and good repute, the joy of Venus, where dwell delight and the gladness of living. The kingly luminary determined to this place turns its heat toward begetting and delight: it inclines to take pleasure in creation, to shine in games and festivities, to set the heart upon children and upon all that issues from itself as living work. It gives fruitfulness, generosity in revelry, a taste for love and for what gives contentment. The star’s fire, proper to the life that is passed on, finds here kindred matter. A house of good standing, it gives the luminary favourable ground — and how much of that good is reaped follows the condition with which the Sun comes from the sign.
