In Pisces — mutable water — Jupiter stands in his own domicile, in his own house and in the waters that best suit him, for his moist nature finds here its element. All that he signifies dissolves into gentleness and spreads without frontier: mercy, faith, charity, compassion for those who suffer. It inclines to a piety without calculation, to easy pardon, to the devotion that gives itself, to a generosity that gives without asking to whom. It gives a deep and contemplative faith, a taste for the sacred and for retreat, a hand wide open to the poor and the afflicted. Justice here leans wholly to the side of clemency, and wisdom becomes mystical more than doctrinal. He is the compassionate benefactor, the man of God, the one who succours without measuring. The danger of his own rule is dissolution: the mildness that loses all rigour, the boundless largesse that is squandered, the faith that gives itself to everything and lets itself be deceived.
