The five aspects

So far every planet has been alone — a nature, in a sign, in a house. Now they meet.

An aspect is a relationship of sight. Two bodies at certain angles are held to see one another, by the light they emit or reflect, and where there is sight there is communication between the matters they signify. Where there is none, the two subjects stay strangers in that chart, however much you might expect them to interact.

That is the first thing to take from this lesson, and it survives everything else: aspects say how, not what. They are adjectival. A planet in the tenth house signifies your profession; an aspect to it does not add a second profession — it describes the manner in which that one proceeds. Read them last, as Lesson 9 will.
