Mercury in House 7
Mercury represents the way you think, speak and learn. House 7 is the house of the other: marriage, partnerships and agreements — and your openly declared rivals too. It's the mirror in which you meet whoever stands before you.
In the seventh house — of marriage, of partnerships, of the other and of declared enemies — Mercury occupies an angle, among the strong houses, of good but ambiguous nature, for it rules both the union and the open dispute. Determined to this house, it carries the wit to dealing with one’s neighbour: the spouse, the partner, the adversary one faces with open face. It inclines to a mind turned toward agreement and negotiation, skilled in contracts and pacts, but equally sharp in litigation and public dispute. It gives a talent for diplomacy and commerce with others, a knack for choosing a partner by conversation and by reason. It tends to unions marked by the exchange of ideas and, at times, by the discord of words. As Mercury, without colour of its own, is tinged by the companion, and we have not yet revealed its condition here, it remains to know whether it makes of the partnership a concert or a suit.
