Mercury in House 8
Mercury represents the way you think, speak and learn. House 8 is the house of what you share and what comes from outside: inheritances, other people's resources, debts, and the major upheavals and losses. It's a deep and demanding place, of fears and of transformation.
In the eighth house — of death, of fear, and of the goods that come from others —, Mercury expresses itself at half strength (succedent) and in an averse and ill-omened house, turning the mind toward what is hidden and deep. It inclines toward a spirit given to investigation, to mystery, to death, and to hidden things, and toward profit by cleverness in others’ goods — managing, counting, or administering money, inheritances, and dowries of others; it may bring dark or restless thoughts about the end. Well disposed, it gives a penetrating mind for what is concealed and gain by skill in others’ resources; ill-disposed, it torments with anxiety, deceptions, or lawsuits over inheritances and debts, and papers that grow complicated.
