Saturn in House 8

Saturn represents your responsible side, your limits and what you build through effort. House 8 is the house of what you share and what comes from outside: inheritances, other people's resources, debts, and the major upheavals and losses. It's a deep and demanding place, of fears and of transformation.

In the eighth house — of death, of fear, and of the goods that come from others —, Saturn expresses itself at half strength (succedent) and in an averse and ill-omened house, yet one whose tone is akin to its own. It inclines toward a natural death, late and from cold or lingering causes (tradition reads the manner of death with caution, and never its term), and toward a life attentive to finitude, to fear, and to last things. As for others’ goods — dowries, inheritances, the partner’s resources —, it brings delay, parsimony, or litigation in receiving them. Strong in its sign, it gives longevity, sobriety before loss, and serious profit from inheritances; impeded, it tightens all into dread, debts, and gains disputed or long delayed.
