In the second house — of movable goods, gain, and what one accumulates and keeps —, Saturn expresses itself at half strength, being succedent, and tinges the finances with its tone of delay and parsimony. It inclines toward a cautious, thrifty, even fearful relation to money: wealth comes slowly, by persistent work and not by a stroke of luck, and rarely without early hardship. It favours gains tied to land, real estate, agriculture, and trades of patience, and the art of conserving what one gathers. Where the sign dignifies it, it makes a prudent steward who raises solid security over time; where it afflicts it, it tightens all into scarcity, debts that drag on, and an anxious clinging to the little there is.
