Venus represents what you love, what gives you pleasure and the things you value. House 2 is the house of your possessions and your livelihood: the money you earn, the things you own and your relationship with resources. It speaks of your ability to provide and to feel secure.
In the second house — of movable goods and of gain — Venus settles in a succedent house, with half of its accidental strength, and in one of the houses averse to the angle. It turns toward possessions: toward money, jewels, ornaments and all that one owns and takes pleasure in having. It inclines to gain by what is beautiful and pleasant — by the arts, by adornments, by agreeable dealing, by the favour of women or by its own grace — and disposes fortune to come by gentle ways rather than by hard effort. It gives a love of luxury and a taste for spending on what pleases the senses, on table, on garments, on bought pleasures. The star of concord, set upon goods, makes of riches a means of enjoyment and harmony, and rarely leaves the person wholly destitute of what is needed for delight. Whether the gain will be broad and firm, or easy and soon spent, the state of the star in this place shows.
