Venus in House 12

Venus represents what you love, what gives you pleasure and the things you value. House 12 is the house of what stays hidden: retreat, what goes on behind the scenes, secret fears and what holds you back within. It's a difficult place, but also one of silence and of the inner life.

In the twelfth house — of hidden enemies, of confinement, of grave illness, of institutions and of sorrows — Venus is in a cadent house, averse and of ill nature, with its accidental strength much reduced, in the place where Saturn rejoices. It turns toward the hidden and the afflicted: toward secret adversaries, captivity, grave ills and the sorrows of the soul. It inclines to secret and forbidden loves, to hidden pleasures and to affections that bring sorrow; it gives a taste for retreat and for all that is lived far from sight. The star of sweetness, set in this gloomy place, finds itself far from its festivity and risks pleasures that bind and loves that cost freedom or peace. It may, however, soften solitude and sweeten confinement. Whether from here comes consolation in seclusion or rather ruin by hidden affections, the state of the star in this place of shadow declares.
