Moon in House 12
Moon represents your emotions, your instincts and what makes you feel safe. House 12 is the house of what stays hidden: retreat, what goes on behind the scenes, secret fears and what holds you back within. It's a difficult place, but also one of silence and of the inner life.
In the twelfth house — of hidden enemies, of confinement, of grave illness, of institutions and of sorrows — the Moon is cadent, and therefore disposes of only a quarter of its strength. It is a house averse to the ascendant and held evil, the most gloomy, where Saturn has its sad joy. Determined to this secluded place, the Moon, sensitive and mutable, inclines to a life of secret trials, of sorrows that rise in stillness and of enemies who act in hiding. It gives a bond to places of enclosure — hospitals, retreats, prisons — and occupation with those who suffer. As the Moon moves the fluids, it brings long and hidden illnesses, above all of the breast and of the body’s waters. Feeling withdraws and suffers far from sight, prone to melancholy and grief. The mother may be bound to sorrows or to confinements. A house of shadow and of sorrow, where the luminary suffers what it does not show.
