Moon in House 4

Moon represents your emotions, your instincts and what makes you feel safe. House 4 is the house of your roots: home, family, what you inherit and your parents (in the old tradition, the father above all). It's your innermost foundation, and also where everything ends — the harbour you come back to.

In the fourth house — of home, of parents, of roots, of real estate and of the end of life — the Moon finds an angle, the bottom of the heavens, and therefore acts with full strength, the whole of its virtue. It is, however, a house held difficult, where all is gathered in and ends. Determined to origin and to the earth, the Moon binds itself here to what is most proper to it — the family, the mother, the paternal house — and gives strong attachment to home and to the memories of blood. It inclines to a life much marked by origin and by the end, with changes of dwelling, a bond to real estate and to inheritances, and roots that weigh. The nocturnal luminary governs this hidden place well, nourishing what comes from within and from below. The inheritance and the lands follow the phases of the Moon, with possession that comes and goes. A house of root and of end, where feeling buries itself deep.
