Saturn in House 1
Saturn represents your responsible side, your limits and what you build through effort. House 1 is the house of your own life: the body, your general health, your temperament and the way you present yourself and set things in motion. It's the starting point for everything in the chart — where "you" stand.
In the first house — of life, of the body, and of the native himself — Saturn finds an angle, where he acts in full, and stamps his grave mark on the whole make of the person. Determined to life and to the body, he gives a serious and reserved constitution, a melancholy and prudent temperament, and an air older than the age. It inclines to a contained presence, of few words and natural weight, which others respect more than it captivates. The body may suffer early from coldness, dryness, or lingering ills, and childhood tends to know privation or early responsibility. It gives, in exchange, gravity, perseverance, and self-mastery: the native matures through effort and gains with the years what he lacked at the start. Saturn here makes of life itself a work of patience, wrought slowly against difficulty.
