Mercury in House 6

Mercury represents the way you think, speak and learn. House 6 is the house of the small daily work and the health of the body: your tasks, your routines, those who work for you and the little ailments. It asks for care — it's where the body shows its signs and where you serve, day by day.

In the sixth house — of small labour, routines, subordinates, and bodily illness —, Mercury expresses itself weakened (cadent) and in an averse house that does not behold the Ascendant. Even so, it brings to work its dexterity: it inclines toward trades of hand, word, calculation, or technique — writing, accounts, craft, commerce, medicine — and toward clever subordinates and easy dealings with those who serve. As for health, being lord of the nerves and the mind, it may signal nervous ills, anxiety, or disturbances of sleep and spirit, above all through excess of bustle. Well disposed, it gives great skill in labour and ingenuity to solve; ill-disposed, it makes restlessness sicken — nerves on edge, insomnia — and entangles the native with servants and papers.
