Sun in House 8

Sun represents who you truly are deep down, your willpower and what gives you energy. House 8 is the house of what you share and what comes from outside: inheritances, other people's resources, debts, and the major upheavals and losses. It's a deep and demanding place, of fears and of transformation.

In the eighth house — of death, of fear and of goods that come by another’s hand — the Sun settles in a succedent house of ill repute, averse, which does not behold the ascendant and therefore darkens its light. A place of shadow and dread, of others’ dowries and inheritances, of what is inherited from the dead. The kingly luminary determined to this matter turns its heat toward what is wont to lie in shade: it inclines to bind fortune to the goods of the spouse and of third parties, to occupy itself with inheritances and legacies, to deal closely with fear and the end. It gives some mastery over the goods of others and gravity before death. But it is a narrow dwelling for the star of day, which here shows itself little — and how far its light reaches in this depth follows the condition it brings from the sign.
