Sun in House 8

Sun represents who you truly are deep down, your willpower and what gives you energy. House 8 is the house of what you share and what comes from outside: inheritances, other people's resources, debts, and the major upheavals and losses. It's a deep and demanding place, of fears and of transformation.

In the eighth house — of death, of fear, and of the goods that come from others —, the Sun expresses itself at half strength (succedent) and in an averse and ill-omened house, below the horizon, where its light is veiled. It inclines toward a death with dignity or some notoriety (reading the manner with caution and never the term, which it is not for the astrologer to fix), and toward profits coming from people of standing — inheritances, dowries, the resources of the partner or of the State; the Sun ruling vitality, its presence here asks attention to the vital forces. Well disposed, it gives honoured gains through others’ goods and a life that faces finitude with nobility; ill-disposed, it brings losses of others’ goods, fears tied to the powerful, or a wearing-down of vigour.
