Venus in House 8
Venus represents what you love, what gives you pleasure and the things you value. House 8 is the house of what you share and what comes from outside: inheritances, other people's resources, debts, and the major upheavals and losses. It's a deep and demanding place, of fears and of transformation.
In the eighth house — of death, of fear and of the goods of others — Venus settles in a succedent house, but averse and of ill nature, with its accidental strength hindered. It turns toward the goods of others, toward the dowry, the inheritance and the legacy, and toward fears and the end of life. It inclines to gain by marriage or by another’s death, to receive goods by way of the spouse or of inheritances, and gives pleasures bound to the secret and to what comes by another’s hand. The star of sweetness, set in a house of death, may soften fear and make the end gentle, but it is here overshadowed, far from the light and the festivity. The affections mingle with loss, with the goods of others and with what is hidden. Whether from here will come serene profit or rather sorrow and ruinous pleasures, the state of the star in this averse place shows.
