Mercury in House 2
Mercury represents the way you think, speak and learn. House 2 is the house of your possessions and your livelihood: the money you earn, the things you own and your relationship with resources. It speaks of your ability to provide and to feel secure.
In the second house — of movable goods, gain, and what one accumulates —, Mercury expresses itself at half strength (succedent) and brings to money its ingenuity. It inclines toward gains by intelligence, commerce, writing, negotiation, and dexterity of hand, and toward a clever and calculating relation to one’s resources; it favours the trades of dealing, numbers, and speech, and the skill of making what one has yield. Being mutable, the finances tend to fluctuate and to depend much on company and on dealings. Dignified in its sign, it gives a nose for business and profit by cleverness and speech; afflicted, it brings losses through contracts, miscalculations, or fraud, and an endless ebb and flow of gains and outlays.
