Saturn in House 4

Saturn represents your responsible side, your limits and what you build through effort. House 4 is the house of your roots: home, family, what you inherit and your parents (in the old tradition, the father above all). It's your innermost foundation, and also where everything ends — the harbour you come back to.

In the fourth house — of home, parents, roots, immovable goods, and the end of life —, Saturn meets an angle, where it acts in full, and a ground of natural affinity: it is lord of lands, of forebears, and of old age, and few places suit it so deeply. It inclines toward an austere home or one marked by privation, a severe, aged, or absent father, and a grave sense of origin and duty toward the family. It favours the holding of lands and real estate, slow gains through property, and a dignified old age resting on what was built over the years. As the fourth seals the end of life, it is here that Saturn best keeps its promise to endure: strong in its sign, it gives firm roots, an estate, and a serene and respected close of life; impeded, it brings solitude in the home, disputed inheritances, and a heavy decline in the final years.
