Moon in House 8
Moon represents your emotions, your instincts and what makes you feel safe. House 8 is the house of what you share and what comes from outside: inheritances, other people's resources, debts, and the major upheavals and losses. It's a deep and demanding place, of fears and of transformation.
In the eighth house — of death, of fear and of the goods of others — the Moon is succedent, and so holds half of its strength. It is a house averse to the ascendant and held evil, gloomy, bound to the end and to what is inherited from the dead. Determined to this place of dread, the Moon, sensitive by nature, inclines to a soul subject to fears, to heavy dreams and to nocturnal disquiets that rise like mist. It gives gain by the goods of others — dowry, inheritance, what comes by way of the spouse or the partners — a fortune that changes like the phases of the luminary. It binds feeling to deep things, to losses and to what one fears to lose. As the Moon moves the fluids, there is care for the crises of the body and for the inner waters. The mother may be bound to matters of death or of inheritance. A house of fear and of another’s profit, where feeling thickens in the dark.
